History of Humanities 5.1 has come out with a special issue on the History of Scholarly Forgetting. It contains 11 contributions ranging from the forgetting of Nazi classical scholarship, the overlooking of amateurs in scholarly research, to the forgetting of Newton as a scholar. The special issue is topped off by a thoroughgoing discussion about the phenomenon of scholarly oblivion beyond disciplinary boundaries.
