Karine Chemla is Director of Research at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) and is also a senior fellow at the New York University Institute for the Study of the Ancient World.

Jürgen Renn is since 1994 director at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and holds an honorary professorship for the history of science at the Humboldt University of Berlin and at the Free University of Berlin.
